As your Member of Parliament, I receive correspondence from thousands of constituents each year. This Privacy Policy explains how my office collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information, your rights under UK data protection law, and how you can contact us if you have any questions.

Keeping constituents informed
As the elected Member of Parliament for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes, I may occasionally communicate with constituents about significant matters affecting the constituency.

public meetings
community events
updates about my parliamentary or constituency work
opportunities to engage with issues affecting the constituency
These communications are intended to keep constituents informed about matters relevant to my role as their elected representative.
Where appropriate, these communications are sent on the basis that they are necessary for the performance of my public role as Member of Parliament and/or because I have a legitimate interest in informing constituents about significant local matters. Before sending such communications, we consider whether they are reasonable, proportionate and consistent with the expectations of recipients.

Website enquiries
If you complete a form on my website, sign a petition, register for an event or complete a survey, we will use your information for the purpose explained when your information is collected.
Where consent is required, we will ask for it clearly.

Political campaigning
My office also undertakes political campaigning on behalf of the Labour Party.
Where personal information is processed for Labour Party political activities, this is carried out separately from constituency casework.

How long we keep information

Casework records will normally be retained for up to one year after a case has concluded unless there is a continuing legal, regulatory or operational reason to retain them for longer.
Information relating to newsletters, surveys, events or other communications will be reviewed regularly and deleted when no longer required.
Retention periods may differ where required by law.
