Privacy policy
This website and constituency office process personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. As your Member of Parliament I am the data controller for information held for parliamentary and constituency purposes.
What we collect
We may collect identity and contact details, addresses and postcodes (to confirm you live in the constituency), casework information you send us, campaign or survey responses, event bookings, and technical data such as IP address for security and site reliability.
How we use your data
We use personal data to respond to enquiries and casework, run constituency campaigns and surveys (where you take part), manage appointments and events, keep you informed about my work where you have asked us to, and to maintain and improve this website.
Casework and official parliamentary work is usually processed because it is necessary for a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority. Where we rely on consent (for example some email updates), you can withdraw it at any time.
Sharing
When taking up casework we may share relevant details with government departments, local authorities or other organisations, but only as far as needed to progress your enquiry. We do not sell personal data. Service providers who host this website or deliver email act as processors under contract.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymise it. Casework records are reviewed regularly and closed matters are not kept longer than necessary.
Cookies
This site may use essential cookies or similar technologies so pages function securely. If we introduce non-essential analytics or marketing cookies we will seek consent where the law requires it.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or in some cases erase or restrict it. To exercise your rights, contact the constituency office using the details on the Contact page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
